Last year, the National Information Technology Board (NITB) brought in a digital change in Pakistan, to enable people to shop for grocery items by developing an application named ‘Durust Daam’. This newly developed application enables the users to buy important food items and have them delivered right to their doorsteps.

The application which was originally introduced for the inhabitants of Islamabad expanded to Faisalabad and Balochistan. With the latest upgrade on the app, users can now see the everyday prices of necessary goods including poultry, fruits, and vegetables.

“With “Durust Daam” people living in the capital, Faisalabad & Balochistan are able to view the daily prices of essential commodities including poultry, fruits & vegetables. The app is an initiative of ICTA, exclusively powered by @NationalITBoard”, the tweet stated. To accommodate the users with maximum coverage, Durust Daam has partnered with Fowrry and Sabzi Mandi Online, encouraging food and shopping startups.

Moreover, the Youth Ambassador of the German Embassy Islamabad, Marion Pfennigs, had also supported this initiative of NITB. She was impressed by the service delivery and quality of Durust Daam and its associates.

Furthermore, NITB intends to grow the platform to more cities in the country in order to eliminate the previous conventional methods of grocery shopping, and with the current third wave of the Coronavirus prompting numerous casualties throughout Pakistan, this proves to be the right decision to move towards digital means and infrastructure. The application is obtainable on both Android’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store for you to download.
