The Ministry of IT and Telecommunication (MoITT) in Pakistan has announced the upcoming launch of the “Beep Pakistan” application in federal government offices. The application, developed by the National Information Technology Board (NITB), aims to enhance international communication among government employees. With advanced features and a focus on data security, the “Beep Pakistan” app is set to revolutionize communication within government departments.

Test Launch and Key Features of Beep Pakistan

According to sources within the MoITT, the ministry has completed the development of the “Beep Pakistan” application and plans to conduct a test launch in the coming week. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Aminul Haque are expected to inaugurate the test phase. The application, designed by the NITB, will facilitate international communication for government employees by providing features such as audio-video calling, document sharing, and video conferencing; it has undergone rigorous testing, and no significant bugs or issues have been identified.

The implementation of this application marks a huge milestone in digital transformation within the Pakistani government. It streamlines communication processes, enhances efficiency, and ensures data security within government departments. The MoITT’s vision is to create a secure and reliable communication platform that caters specifically to the needs of government employees, reducing reliance on external social media platforms.

Enhanced Data Security

The MoITT officials have highlighted the data security measures implemented in the “Beep Pakistan” application. It has received clearance from the National Telecom & Information Security Board, ensuring protection against external interference and cyber-attacks. The application is positioned as an alternative to popular social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp, offering a secure environment for government-related communication.

Initially, the application will be launched on a private cloud, allowing for controlled access and monitoring. The National Telecommunication Corporation aims to complete the hosting process within three months, enabling broader usage. Around 500,000 users, including employees from all 41 federal departments and ministries, can utilize the “Beep Pakistan” app for international communication.
