Air Link is set to begin Xiaomi mobile phones production in Pakistan on March 4th. Dr. Arif is expected to inaugurate the production facility.

According to the company’s notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Air Link Communication Limited is set to begin Xiaomi mobile phones production in Pakistan. Xiaomi had planned an inauguration ceremony on March 4th to kick start its production unit in Pakistan.

Xiaomi mobile phones production in Pakistan will create various job opportunities

As per sources, around 3 million Xiaomi handsets will be indigenously manufactured while the Xiaomi mobile phones production in Pakistan will create over 3,000 direct jobs in the national market, with the country expected to earn more than $550 million through sales of Xiaomi mobiles. As the company’s shared this information with PSX, its share price rose to nearly four percent. Its stock price moved from Rs54.75 to Rs56.87.

President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi is expected to inaugurate the production facility near Lahore on March 4, 2022. In an official statement, Air Link said, “It’s a historic event for our country where Xiaomi, one of the largest smartphone companies, is kicking off production in Pakistan by joining hands with Select Technologies Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air Link.” It further added; “This production facility is a step forward in the direction of PM’s vision of ‘Make in Pakistan’ and will have a huge impact on Pakistan’s economy resulting in the export of locally-produced Xiaomi mobile phones.”

Realme started local production of mobile phones

Adviser to Prime Minister for Commerce and Investment, Abdul Razak Dawood informed that RealMe mobiles have also started producing mobiles locally at their unit in Lahore. He tweeted; “I would like to congratulate RealMe mobiles which have started producing mobiles locally at their unit in Lahore. This has not only created employment but it has also decreased the cost of their locally made smartphones.”
