Telegram Premium has passed 1 million subscribers counts, months after the company launched its paid subscription plan in order to monetize the business. The chief executive and founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, announced the news on his channel, calling it one of the most successful examples of a social media subscription plan ever launched.

Success of Telegram Premium to Fuel the Future

Pavel revealed his plans saying that the firm is developing a host of decentralized tools, including non-custodial wallets and exchanges. In this regard, the company will need money to fulfill the computing costs and to support its plans to expand its monetization efforts in the coming years. The founder later thanked the successful launch of Telegram Premium, which has resulted in accumulating the required amount.

Durov wrote, “Thanks to successful monetization, Telegram will be able to pay for the servers, traffic, and wages necessary to keep building new features and supporting existing ones. While some other apps consider their users a tool to maximize revenue, we consider revenue a tool to maximize value for our users.” In Pakistan, the premium subscription costs Rs. 1,127, and it offers the ability to send files as large as 4 GB and faster downloads.
