Surprisingly, the president’s decision to create a TikTok profile came forth after a recent ban imposed on the video-sharing app by the Sindh High Court (SHC). However, the famous Chinese application was reinstated in Pakistan after the administration addressed the objections.
Moreover, President Dr. Arif Alvi also maintains his separate profile on the micro-blogging website Twitter, as well as on other social media platforms such as Instagram, and an official page on Facebook.
Furthermore, the SHC ban on the app, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had also reacted to the notion, by lashing out at the ruling of banning TikTok across Pakistan till July 8, describing it as “judicial activism”.
Taking to Twitter, the Minister had warned of consequences the country will suffer in case it did not carry out judicial reforms. “Pakistan will never come out of its economic crisis if judicial reforms are not undertaken,” he had said on Twitter.
