YouTube Premium is getting five new features to attract and retain subscribers. In addition to ad-free YouTube content and Music, subscribers can now download content to watch later, play videos in the background while using other apps, and access high-quality videos. It has also added a SharePlay feature that enables FaceTime users to watch videos simultaneously, and a queue feature to save videos to watch later. Moreover, YouTube Premium subscribers using iOS devices will now have access to the “1080p Premium” feature, which delivers 1080p HD videos with an enhanced bitrate.

Five New Features by YouTube Premium

1. Queuing on your phone or tablet
Queuing enables users to control what users see by allowing them to decide exactly what video the user wants to play next. The feature was already available on the web but it is expanding to phones and tablets running Android and iOS.

2. Jump back into YouTube across devices
YouTube is expanding the ability to continue watching YouTube videos wherever users previously left off even as they switch between devices, on Android, iOS, and Web.

3. Watch YouTube together
The Premium members can host Google Meet sessions where all attendees, regardless of whether they are Premium or free users, can watch YouTube videos together.

4. Keep the YouTube experience going when you’re offline
Smart Downloads can automatically download recommended videos in the Library while the users are connected to Wi-Fi and later it can be viewed in the offline mode.

5. Enhance the video quality on iOS
In the coming weeks, YouTube will be launching an enhanced bitrate version of 1080p HD video quality starting on iOS. While all users will still have access to 1080p, this enhanced 1080p quality setting will look extra crisp and clear, especially for videos with lots of detail and motion.
