The long-awaited feature, allowing users to convert voice messages into text, is finally making strides towards implementation, promising a more efficient communication experience.

WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that will let users edit their contacts without having to leave the app. The feature ‘Manage Contacts Within the App’ will save time for users, as they can easily add new contacts to their list or edit contact information within the app itself rather than switching between multiple apps.

Manage Contacts Within the App Available for Beta Testers

The new ‘Manage Contacts Within the App’ feature is available for beta testing for those who have installed the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days. This feature will definitely help users save time as adding or editing a contact within the app takes only a few seconds, whereas switching to the contacts app and then managing a contact can take a bit longer.

According to the screenshot shared above, the new feature allows users to add contacts directly within the WhatsApp app. If you are a beta tester, open your contacts list within WhatsApp and select the option “New contact” In case the section shown in the screenshot appears, it means you can already add contacts without leaving WhatsApp. In addition, you can also add unknown numbers to your contacts list when they reach you on WhatsApp, without switching to the contacts app.
