In the recent news, Pakistani gaming startup, Gaming Revolution for International Development Inc. (GRID) has successfully raised $1.3 million funding in an oversubscribed seed round. The raised seed funding round was directed by 11 Tribes Ventures and Blockchain Founders Fund and included Zell Capital, Realist Ventures, Formless Capital, and Mask Network, as well as many other angel investors. 

 

Pakistani Gaming Startup Intends to Democratize Content Creation Via Video Games

 

The raised seed funding also included a Republic equity crowdfunding raise that totaled $195,960 from 327 investors. The Pakistani gaming startup, GRID was founded by Pakistani entrepreneur Marium Nusrat, is a US-based woman-led startup that intends to democratize content creation via video games. 

 

Moreover, Marium Nusrat was previously listed in Forbes Next 1000 list that celebrates startups and companies with under $10 million in revenue and is a recipient of the Clinton Global Initiative University Honor Roll Alumni Award. Nusrat further successfully handles a team of 18 game creators and developers, with a background in video game development and social innovation.

Pakistani gaming startup GRID’S team is presently creating a platform titled Breshna that lets users create purposeful video games without using a single line of code. Breshna implies lightening in Pashto, the Founder’s mother tongue. The Pakistani gaming startup currently has 1100 registered users with more than 3000 video games already created. 

 

Furthermore, the alpha version of Breshna was recently launched by GRID and has ranked #2 Product of the Day on Product Hunt. In a post on Medium, Marium Nusrat commented, “Breshna operates at the intersection of 3 exploding tech trends; no-code content creation, serious games, and NFTs. Video games are powerful communication tools, but their use has been limited to entertainment due to the cost, skills, and time barriers associated with video game creation. “

 

GRID Plans to Use the Raised Seed Funding for User Experience Enhancement 

 

The latest raised seed funding also attracted investors focused on the web3 space. The Pakistani gaming startup, GRID intends on utilizing the capital raised to further improve user experience and accelerate the expansion of Breshna among its target users.
