Stranger Things stage play, The First Shadow, is all set to hit the theatres in London this year. The First Shadow, written by Stranger Things writer and co-executive producer Kate Trefry, will premiere at the Phoenix theatre in London’s West End. The original story writer of Stranger Things, Duffer Brothers, said; “We are beyond excited about ‘Stranger Things: The First Shadow. Collaborating with the brilliant Stephen Daldry has been nothing short of inspiring, and Kate Trefry has written a play that is at turns surprising, scary and heartfelt.”

The First Shadow Expected to Receive a Very Big Audience

The First Shadow is expected to take theatrical storytelling and stagecraft to a whole new dimension; the show is also expected to receive a huge audience from an already huge fan base of Stranger Things. The play, with co-direction by Justin Martin, will have a set designed by Miriam Buether and a costume design by Brigitte Reiffenstuel.

The play will be set in 1959 in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. Netflix has said that it will also include a handful of the show’s main characters, including the town’s police chief, Jim Hopper, and Joyce Byers’ boyfriend, Bob Newby. The tickets are expected to go on sale this spring and priority access to tickets will be given to fans who register at the official website.

About Stranger Things

The series debuted in 2016 and has been one of the streaming platform’s most popular shows that have topped Netflix’s Most Popular English TV list with 1.35 billion hours viewed. According to Duffer Brothers; “You will meet endearing new characters, as well as very familiar ones, on a journey into the past that sets the groundwork for the future of ‘Stranger Things.’ We’re dying to tell you more about the story but won’t — it’s more fun to discover it for yourself. Can’t wait to see you nerds in London!”
