ICC Digital head said; “We are delighted to be able to continue to provide new ways for fans to celebrate the game we all love. Cricket has an outstanding track record of using technology to connect fans with our sport and this is our next evolution, from trading cards to video NFTs where fans can own their favorite plays from ICC events.”
ICC plans to launch Shaheen’s NFT
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is planning to release a digital art of Shaheen Shah Afridi’s brilliant dismissal of Rohit Sharma from Pakistan’s game against India in the group stage of Men T20 World Cup 2021. ICC tweeted stills from Shaheen dismissing Rohit and Wanindu Hasaranga’s hattrick against South Africa, asking cricket fans to vote for the moment that can be considered for NFT.
Shaheen dismissing Rohit is one of the most astounding moments of the T20 world cup. As the left-arm seamer scalped the wickets of Rohit Sharma, netizens took to Twitter to express their delight. Some appreciated Shaheen’s bowling; “@iShaheenAfridi yet again gets a wicket in his very first over. This time @ImRo45 couldn’t survive #ShaheenAfridi’s yorker. What a delivery that was! #PakvsIndia.” While others criticized Rohit’s pattern; “Rohit Sharma and Left-arm pace! The story continues. Shaheen Afridi wins the battle here. Big wicket for Pakistan. #INDvPAK”
Which of these moments should become an ICC NFT?
