The billionaire business tycoon, Elon Musk, had teased a potential social media site of his own as a competitor for Twitter.

Elon Musk’s US-based satellite broadband company SpaceX Starlink has announced to inaugurate its first office in South Asia in Pakistan. This latest development was verified by Omar Malik, Member Telecom, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) while conversing with the news media outlets present in Pakistan on Wednesday.

A Delegation from SpaceX Starlink Visited IT Minister

Furthermore, Member Telecom, Omar Malik stated that a delegation of the US-based global satellite broadband provider, SpaceX Starlink, consisting of Director Middle East & Asia, Ryan Goodnight, and Head of Global Site Acquisition, Ben Macwilliam, met with the Minister of IT & Telecom, Syed Amin Ul Haque, to discuss the Policy & Operation model regarding the inauguration of the company’s first office in Pakistan.

SpaceX Starlink also mentioned that Starlink Pakistan has already registered and it will soon open its first office in Pakistan, which will be it’s first in South Asia. SpaceX further exhibited an interest in Space of Things & Internet of Things set up in Pakistan, he continued.

In addition to this, Member Telecom Omar Malik informed about Balanced Space Satellite Regime that shall facilitate the LEO satellite services. Minister IT & Telecom communicated the particulars of the teledensity of broadband in Pakistan, adding that this win-win position will support acquiring the ministry’s vision of “Broadband for All “and the PM vision of Digital Pakistan. Later on, the panel met with Secretary IT and he assured of his maximum support in further facilitating the establishment of their first office in Pakistan.
