Sindh Police is set to introduce another modern feature to help the police force keep track of criminals. IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon said that the new device, called electronic wristbands would be used for habitual criminals, the device will alert the authorities if the criminals try to leave a particular area, and their whereabouts can be easily located.

Electronic Wristbands to Curb the Crime Rate in the Province

The Sindh cabinet has already authorized the plan to use electronic wristbands for habitual criminals, and the law will be introduced in the next session of the provincial assembly. As per details, IGP Memon has written legislation to tag criminals with electronic wristbands.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has studied the bill with his advisory group, and all of them are on the same page about introducing the e-tagging system; therefore, the document will likely be introduced in the next session of the provincial assembly. The upcoming law will empower Sindh Police to track the activity of habitual criminals by making them wear electronic bracelets.

The Talash App

To fight street crimes in the port city, Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Nabi has launched, Talash (search) App, with a digital communication system and an internet facility so that when required, the police officer can immediately respond. “This Talash App will be utilised as an effective and best weapon against crimes and in taking action against criminals,” the IGP said. Moreover, the Sindh police are also introducing a smart car that will be equipped with high-resolution cameras, the placement of these vehicles at the disposal of the police force will discourage criminals from committing crimes and help people feel secure.
