Facebook video calling devices to go on Sale From 19th October

Facebook has officially launched its video calling devices called the Portal+ and the Portal Go, priced at $349 and $199, respectively. Facebook video calling devices have 14-inch and 10-inch HD tilting displays and the devices are entirely intended for video calling. Facebook said in a statement; “Portal frees up people’s primary screen to maximize meeting productivity and also make switching between work documents and video calling easier.”

Specifications of Facebook video calling devices 

Facebook video calling devices will be available from 19th October. Here are some of the basic specifications of both devices

  • Portal Go

Speaker: 2 Full-Range Speakers + Woofer

Other features

Both the devices have built-in Alexa and multiple privacy control to ease data security concerns. It also has a Household mode, which allows the owner to control different apps and contacts which can be accessed by anyone and what should be out of reach for everyone. The new WhatsApp multi-device support tool, that enables people to use WhatsApp on their phone and up to four other smart devices simultaneously, is also being introduced to Portal.

Portal Go includes a 12MP camera with an ultrawide field of view for immersive video calls. The new 14-inch Portal+ also features a 12MP Smart Camera with an ultrawide field of view. All Portal devices now support Zoom, Cisco’s Webex, BlueJeans as well as GoToMeeting and in December, Portal will add support for Microsoft Teams. The video calling devices can be protected with a screen lock and passcode, user can also disable the microphone and have an integrated lens cover to physically block the camera.
