Facebook-like cover photos

Meta-owned instant messaging app, WhatsApp is now working to enhance account profiles for everyone with a new feature. According to WABetaInfo, there is another upcoming feature from the latest beta version of WhatsApp. WhatsApp will soon allow users to add Facebook-like cover photos to their profile.

The Facebook-Like Cover Photos Feature is Currently for WhatsApp Business Accounts

Moreover, the Facebook-like cover photos feature is under development for WhatsApp Business accounts and there is no information hinting that it’s coming to the standard version of WhatsApp. However, since the new feature is not only limited to business uses, it can be suspected that it will make it to the standard version of the WhatsApp as well.

The camera button on the cover photo will let users take a picture on the spot or upload one from their gallery. Once the users have the Facebook-like cover photos, all their WhatsApp Business contacts will be able to see it once they visit the profiles.

The New Feature Will Likely Launch First for iPhone Users

The screenshot above is from WhatsApp for iOS, so it will likely launch for iPhone users first. Since the Facebook-like cover photos feature is still under development, there is no clear launch date in sight, but we will update this space once there is more information.

In addition to this, Meta-owned WhatsApp is also working on a new group voice call feature that will revamp the interface of the app window by bringing voice waveforms for all participants during a group voice call. In the latest design of group calls, the profiles of the contacts will be more visual. Currently, the Meta-owned instant messaging app has begun rolling out the new group voice call feature to certain beta testers.
