Seema Ghulam Haider, a 27-year-old woman from Sindh province in Pakistan, and Sachin Meena, an Indian man, found love through the virtual world of PUBG.

In a tale that has captivated the hearts of people across India and Pakistan, a unique love story unfolds between Seema Ghulam Haider, a Pakistani woman, and Sachin Meena, her Indian partner. Their journey began during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 when they met while playing the popular game PUBG. However, their love took an unexpected turn when Seema crossed the border to be with Sachin in India, leading to their arrest and subsequent legal proceedings.

A Cross-Border Connection Forged in the Virtual Environment

Seema Ghulam Haider, a 27-year-old woman from Sindh province in Pakistan, and Sachin Meena, an Indian man, found love through the virtual world of PUBG. Despite the geographical divide between their countries, their connection grew stronger as they bonded over the virtual battlegrounds. Little did they know that their love would eventually transcend the boundaries of the digital world.

Their connection blossomed despite the geographical divide between their countries, captivating the imagination of people across the internet from both India and Pakistan, earning them the endearing title of the real-life Veer Zara. This reference draws parallels to the iconic Bollywood movie of the same name, which beautifully narrates the tale of two star-crossed lovers from India and Pakistan.

Transformation of Seema’s Faith

Seema Haider, now known as Seema Sachin, disclosed that she embraced Hinduism and shed her original surname to adopt her partner’s. Seema expressed her contentment with Sachin’s suggestion that she could retain her first name, as “Seema” is a name shared by individuals from both the Hindu and Muslim communities. Thus, she identified herself as Seema or Seema Sachin. In addition to her transformation, Seema stated that she had changed her children’s names to Raj, Priyanka, Pari, and Munni, reflecting their collective embrace of Hinduism and their integration into their new family’s cultural practices.

Love Knows No Borders, but Legalities Intervene

In a bold move driven by love, Seema took a daring step by crossing into India via Nepal without proper documentation or citizenship. Accompanied by her four young children, she reunited with Sachin in an apartment in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. However, their happiness was short-lived as their neighbor raised concerns about the legality of their marriage. As a result, the authorities arrested the couple, and Sachin’s father was also taken into custody for allegedly harboring an illegal immigrant.

Their arrest sparked a series of legal proceedings, during which the court scrutinized the authenticity of their relationship and Seema’s immigration status. The couple’s cultural integration and Seema’s claim that they had legally married in Kathmandu’s Pashupatinath temple played a pivotal role in their defense.
