London-based startup Invisibility Shield has developed a fully functional invisibility shield that will leave your friends and family in a state of shock.

The UK-based startup, Invisibility Shield, has developed a fully functional invisibility shield that will leave your friends and family in a state of shock. The invisibility cloak used by Harry Potter had his fans say, “I wish I could use it here and there, even if it’s real.” Scientists have yet to develop Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak fully, but the invisibility shield will provide a similar experience.

The invisibility shield

The UK-based startup, Invisibility Shield Co, has developed a shield that uses a special lens array, that directs much of the light reflected by the subject away from the observer. It transmits it laterally across its face to the left and the right. This array has lenses arranged vertically so that the vertically oriented light reflected from the subject is quickly diffused horizontally. The invisibility shield works best with uniform backgrounds like grass, foliage, walls, painted lines, and sand.

The company provides the invisibility shields in two sizes, 3 X 2 feet which are sufficient enough to hide two full-grown humans behind it while sitting down. The second size measures 12 X 8 inches, costing $64 while the former costs $394 inclusive of international shipping. The company has developed 25 fully functional shields so far, and the team is working tirelessly to produce more of them.

Words from the inventor

In an official statement, the team explained the reason for kickstarting such a unique project; “Disappointed by the lack of progress and the continued unavailability of actual working invisibility shields, we decided to step things up and go all-in on our project to create one,” “We went through countless iterations, tested a lot of materials, and experienced a lot of failures. But along the way, we managed to develop a reliable, scalable, and efficient manufacturing process and created what we believe are the best invisibility shields ever made,” it added.
