Microsoft has rolled out free verification system for LinkedIn that will allow users to verify their identity and their place of work. Unlike other social media platforms, the verification system for LinkedIn is free that will appear as a green or blue check on the profile.

Verification System for LinkedIn Is Open to All Users

The verification through company email is available now to all LinkedIn users, while, the Microsoft Entra verification is rolling out at the end of April initially to 2 million LinkedIn members. The need for online verification of credentials is crystal clear as more and more organizations have started hiring remote workers and they need a genuine proof to verify their links with the company.

Alex Weinert, vice president of identity security at Microsoft, said; “Authenticity online has never been more important. We’ve seen a steady uptick in fraudulent presentations with people pretending to be people they’re not in all kinds of different forms. You want to know really that if you interact with somebody who says they’re employed by a certain company or represent a certain company that you can trust who they say they are. The need for that is pretty clear.”
