In the recent news, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has inaugurated a WhatsApp helpline to facilitate the public to easily register their complaints and get important information with a few clicks. With this, Islamabad Police has become the first police division in Pakistan to launch a WhatsApp helpline for quick registration and resolution of complaints.
Islamabad Police Inaugurates WhatsApp Helpline for Public
Commenting on the latest development, Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad Police, Muhammad Ahsan Younas, stated that the public can now contact the Islamabad Police through the WhatsApp helpline. All they have to do is to save 03342874287 in their contacts list and send a WhatsApp message on this number. They can use the helpline in both English and Urdu languages.

Furthermore, the public can access 18 Islamabad Police services through the WhatsApp helpline. These include About Islamabad Police, IGP Complaint Cell, Police Facilitation Center Services, Online Crime, and Complaints Reporting System, Helpline Numbers of ICT Police, Gender Harassment Reporting, Online Appointment for All Services, Police Advisories, and Police Offices.
The ICT Police has also included Services for Overseas Pakistanis, Social Media, Islamabad Police Mobile App, and Website, Youth Engagement Program, Zainab Alert, Daily Inquiries and Investigations, Most Wanted Criminals, Accessing PMDU, and Suggestions and Feedback.
Abbottabad Police Has Also Launched a Traffic Mobile App
Previously, Abbottabad Police rolled out a traffic mobile app “I Am a Traffic Warden” to help the residents to report violations of traffic laws. The initiative is intended to help check traffic violations through public participation and monitoring. The traffic mobile app also facilitates several people to apply for driving tests, lodge traffic-related complaints, besides raising awareness.
