Gucci, has announced that it will accept payments in cryptocurrencies in some of its stores in the US from the end of this month.

An Italian luxury brand, Gucci, has announced that it will accept payments in cryptocurrencies – like Bitcoin, Ether, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, life Coin, Bitcoin Cash, Wrapped Bitcoin, Litecoin, and other cryptocurrencies – in some of its stores in the US from the end of this month. Gucci president and CEO Marco Bizzarri said; “Gucci is always looking to embrace new technologies when they can provide an enhanced experience for our customers.”

Gucci outlets accepting payments in cryptocurrencies

Gucci’s outlet that will be accepting payments in cryptocurrencies includes;  the Miami Design District, Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles, Wooster Street in New York, Atlanta’s Phipps Plaza, and The Shops at Crystals in Las Vegas. Marco Bizzarri, Gucci’s president and CEO, said; “Now that we are able to integrate cryptocurrencies within our payment system, it is a natural evolution for those customers who would like to have this option available to them.”

A report from Vogue mentioned that the in-store crypto payments will be carried out with a link sent via email to the customer. It will contain a QR code enabling them to execute the payment from their crypto wallet, the company will then convert the digital asset into fiat currency. The report also added that Gucci has plans for all of its directly-operated North American stores to accept crypto payments by this summer.

Other outlets accepting digital payments

Gucci has joined another high-end fashion brand – Off White – in the list that has started accepting six cryptocurrencies in its flagship stores located in Milan, Paris, and London. Moreover, Gucci has also established its name in the Metaverse by purchasing the digital land in the sandbox. A statement from the company reads; “Sandbox and Gucci will collaborate to create an interactive fashion experience based on Vault, Gucci’s conceptual space and meeting place inspired by childhood memories of the search for beauty.”
