Pakistan’s entry into the semi-final of WT20 is not less than any miracle, as the chances of their qualification were almost impossible following the early blows at the hands of India and Zimbabwe. But, the Green Shirts were able to cement their spot after the Netherlands pulled off a massive upset by eliminating South Africa. Netizens trended ‘Qudrat Ka Nizam,’ which means ‘Law of Nature, to explain the reason behind Pakistan’s qualification.

What’s ‘Qudrat Ka Nizam’ and Where Does it Stem From?

The word ‘Qudrat Ka Nizam’ was first used by the head coach of Pakistan Cricket Team, Saqlain Mushtaq, when he played down the defeat against England, attributing it to “Qudrat ka Nizam” Saqlain received a lot of backlash on his statement rather than accepting the flaws. His statement went: “Day and night, summer and winter, rains… they are all-natural. Ye kudrat ka nizam hai. Just like that, sport is also the same. Win and loss will be there. We need to accept it, and we do.”

Netizens picked the phrase to celebrate the unpredicted victory of the Pakistan cricket team. Pakistani opener, Fakhar Zaman, jumped on the bandwagon and said; “Dekha phir qudrat Ka Nizam’ Former bowling coach, Azhar Mehmood, wrote; “Congrats, Pakistan! Our bowling was incredible.”

Reactions from Pakistani Players

The former and current Pakistani cricket team players praised the Men in Green for making a grand comeback. Shahid Afraid said; “Well done, boys,” Hassan Ali wrote; “Our bowling was on spot today excellent performances by our boys,” Under Full said; “Congratulations Pakistan. Well bowled,” The skipper, Babar Azam said; “Never say never!”

Finishing second in the group, Pakistan will now face New Zealand in the tournament’s semifinal, while India will face mighty England. Pakistan will lock horns with last year’s runners-up at the Sydney Cricket Ground on 9th November.
