Another week, another wild Simpsons prediction, or is it? Social media is ablaze once again, this time with claims that The Simpsons.foresaw the recent Coldplay concert Kisscam scandal involving Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot. A viral video of the pair locking lips on camera during a Coldplay gig in July 2025 instantly set the internet on fire, but what really blew minds was the alleged side-by-side image of a similar scene in The Simpsons.
From TikTok to Instagram to X (formerly Twitter), users quickly declared this yet another eerie example of the show’s psychic powers. Posts even claimed to cite the exact episode: Season 26, Episode 10, ‘The Man Who Came to Be Dinner’. According to the now-viral myth, a scene in that 2015 episode showed two characters resembling Byron and Cabot caught kissing on a jumbotron mirroring the real-life chaos.
But hold your Duff Beer – because the fact checkers are here.
DW conducted a detailed investigation, and it turns out… the claim is completely false. That episode’s plot actually revolves around the Simpsons being abducted by aliens; no stadium, no concert, and definitely no corporate affair. While Season 17, Episode 22 (Marge and Homer Turn a Couple Play) does feature a kiss cam, it’s a wholesome baseball scene between Homer and Marge.
The viral image supposedly showing the animated scandal? Most likely AI-generated. Tools like AIorNot and Hive Moderation analyzed the image and returned results of 99.9% likelihood of artificial generation. In short, the whole thing smells more like a deepfake than a deep-cut prediction.
So, no The Simpsons didn’t predict the Coldplay kisscam drama. But the fact that people believe it did? That’s a scandal of its own.
