Imported Sugar Tracking System

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) in collaboration with Punjab Food Department has developed an imported sugar tracking system that will help enhance transparency and ease of tracking from port dispatches to sales, a statement said. The first of its kind digitalized system is now functional across Punjab, it added.

The system dashboard, available with the deputy commissioners, has enabled district governments to timely track the dispatches and transits of received and sold sugar across Punjab with the option of recording the payments against those consignments.

The Imported Sugar Tracking System Will Provide End-to-End Tracking of Sugar Consignments

PITB’s monitoring system provides dispatch, receiving, transportation, payment, and vessel details. This action will not just help the state but also the associated stakeholders by guaranteeing end-to-end tracking of sugar from the port to the distributors to sales in areas. The system is currently functional in Punjab and will guarantee that operations from port dispatches to sales are performed smoothly and efficiently.

The System Can Also Record Payments of the Consignments

In addition to this, the system will enable the district government to monitor the dispatches and transits of the received and sold sugar across the province in a timely method. It will also provide an option to record the payments against those consignments. Moreover, the Punjab Food Department is striving towards building a more transparent and resilient supply chain through the PITB facilitated Imported Sugar Tracking System.
